Below you'll find a wonderful item. This is a bound amendment to the 1886 Forth Bridge Railway Act. It originates from the solicitors office of the Caledonian Railway. The brief typewritten amendment approves the date of completion to be extended until July the 12th 1890. Clearly fixing those 55,000 tons of steel and 8 million rivets was taking longer to fix than expected. At least 57 people lost their lives building this masterpiece of engineering.
